resistant to thermal shocks, nevertheless the manufacturer of the glass tubing recommend not to use a difference of temperatures higher than 120º C to avoid thermal shock. 

This means even though the glass resists to temperatures of 500ºC, it cannot resist if we put the material inside an oven at 500ºC forcing it to go from 20ºC to 500ºC in seconds. The same happens if we have it in an oven at 500ºC and we take it out and put it on the table at 20ºC. In these cases, there is a thermal shock that can cause breakage. The way to avoid thermal shock is to heat the material slowly and cool it slowly.
