Solutia se utilizeaza pentru colorarea neuronilor si maduvei spinarii. Se mai foloseste pentru identificarea celulelor Nissl si nucleelor din celule si contracolorant in coloratia Luxol fast blue, pentru colorarea mielinei. Se mai foloseste in coloratia GRAM. Solutia este disponibila si in urmatoarele cantitati: 100 ml, 500 ml, 1000 ml.
