Sursele si solutiile radioactive etalon se folosesc la etalonarea aparatelor de masurare a radioactivitatii, apartinand diferitilor beneficiari. Etalonarea se efectueaza pentru diversi radionuclizi. IFIN-HH, LMR, este unicul laborator de etalonare a surselor radioactive din tara, autorizat si notificat de CNCAN. Toate tipurile de etaloane poseda Autorizatie de Securitate Radiologica valabila, eliberata de CNCAN . LMR este Acreditat RENAR pentru etalonari. 99m TC
