Pudra are un efect puternic si o densitate ridicata.Atunci când pudra vine în contact cu sângele, il absoarbe si se umfla treptat, transformandu-se în cele din urma într-un material gelatinos. In acest moment, realizand in scurt timp o presiune, materialul va adera la plaga, inchizand efectiv terminatiile capilarelor venoase si ducand la instalarea unui efect de hemostaza mecanica.Se activeaza cascada coagularii, transformand fibrinogenul solubil într-o retea de fibrina insolubila, ce opreste sângerarea. Implantata în tesut, pudra este absorbita în termen de 5 - 8 zile. Pudra este complet bio-absorbabila.
